fine art print by shelley miller
The print is one of a series Shelley Miller created in Brazil during a residency. Temporary sand sculptures were created in the guise of designer handbags -- the photo documents are all that remains of the work, as the sculptures themselves only lasted a few hours.
Shelley Miller is a Montreal-based multi-discipine artist best known for her work with everyday materials like sugar and sand. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design and Concordia University, Miller has received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Quebec Arts Council, as well as received the Commonwealth Arts and Crafts Award (2001) and the Sacatar Fellowship (2004). Miller’s work has been exhibited in India and Brazil as well as numerous galleries across Canada.
